At Seton Hall Law School's 75th anniversary event on February 12, 2026, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie sat down with NCAA President and former Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker for a candid discussion on the rapidly changing landscape of college athletics. The conversation explored the NCAA's evolving priorities—from expanded athlete health coverage and mental health standards to revenue sharing, sports-betting harassment, and reform of the transfer portal—while both leaders reflected on governance, litigation, and what it will take to bring long-term stability to the system for student-athletes and member institutions.
